Mezza is a wonderful find. Fresh food delivered by an attentive waitress. The lamb kebabs are tender and tasty, the salads very fresh, the falafels light! A very good menu with good vegetarian selections. We were pleased to find the option of dining outside which made for great people watching although the traffic was a bit noisy. This is a good restaurant and it is definitely on my "go back to" list!
“Very Good” - Reviewed September 6, 2011
We were visiting someone in the hospital and wanted to eat lunch somewhere close. We actually chose this restaurant because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor. It lived up to its reputation. The food is tasty and fresh. My husband and his mother grew up eating Lebanese food, and they really liked Mezza. That is saying something, because my husband is very picky. Although, I don't think any kebbeh will ever come close to his grandmother's.
Mezza had a lot of vegetarian options, which made me happy. The hummus and falafel were especially good. We opted to eat outside because it was a beautiful day. The restaurant is on a busy street, so the noise level is a little high, however the people watching is wonderful, since there is a university nearby. We were able to see many of the new students wandering around. Overall, this restaurant is a good choice.
“Excellent Food, Great Service and Very Affordable” - Reviewed August 24, 2011
My husband and I had the good fortune of finding Mezza Restaurant this afternoon. We were both quite hungry and decided to order the shared sandwich special ($17.00 for two!) The special allows each diner to order the sandwich of their choice and it comes with roasted (yummy) spiced potatoes and a delicious salad. The meal we were served was for lunch, but it was a very generous quantity and we were full and happy when we left. The attention to detail didn't stop there. The washroom was clean and even had mouthwash, dental floss and hand lotion. How great is that! Adrienne our waitress, was friendly and very helpful, too.

“Best restaurant anywhere.” - Reviewed January 30, 2011
We have been visiting Halifax on a regular basis for the past 6 years and Mezza has to be the best restaurant we've ever been to - anywhere!!! The food is absolutely the freshest, the lamb is the tastiest, best hummus hands down and there is nothing we've ever had there that wasn't amazing. Besides the best, freshest food the service and atmosphere are wonderful. Every time we visit Halifax, Mezza is an absolute must-do. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone/everyone. You will definitely not be disappointed.
"A special occasion..." (Jan 30, 2009)
Went here for a special occasion, and it was awesome. I went there just after it opened. The food is wonderful, and their selection is amazing. The staff were friendly, and explained dishes really well. Nice layout, very clean and welcoming. The parking, or lack thereof, kinda sucks for those with cars, but I'm a walker.
“Food, Fun and Fabulous” (Jan 7, 2009)
Delicious food, great atmosphere and amazing service. You have to try the Mezzet and the Kabobs. All of it tastes fresh and homemade. The spices and herbs make your mouth water and beg for more. You can’t find Lebanese food like this in Montreal and there are a lot of Lebanese restaurants in MTL. Halifax is lucky to have a restaurant like Mezza. The restaurant is very clean and the presentation is fabulous. My guests and I will be going back next time we are in Halifax.
"Very happy" (Oct 16, 2008)
I've been to Mezza twice now. The first time I had the Mezzet Sampler (hummus, baba ghanouj, etc.). They warned me that it was intended for two, but I'm a pretty big eater, so I went ahead. I rolled out of there very, very happy. The food was all excellent, relatively authentic (Lebanese) and perfectly prepared.
We went back recently for lunch with a large group and were very happy. I had the kafta kabob and loved it. Others in the group had the chicken soup or the lentil soup and were really impressed.
Beautifully decorated, with a well-stocked bar and the most complete bathroom in Halifax (toothpicks, floss, mouthwash, you name it). This relatively new restaurant is going into our rotation from now on
“A new hit in Halifax” (Sep 27, 2008)
What a great new restaurant in Metro Halifax. Awesome food and very good service. The best med food I've had in quite sometime. Kabobs melt in your mouth. Will return again and again, my new favorite !!!
“Great Lebanese Food!” (Sep 20, 2008)
The food was great. Especially the mezza starter platter was bang on. Would definitely recommend it if you are craving good hummus and babaganoush. Have tried a lot of great home made Lebanese food and this place is definitely comparable.
“Deliciously garlicky...” (Aug 24, 2008)
Deliciously garlicky! Great service, fantastic decor. I loved just about everything about this place. My one complaint is that only one of the desserts is made on site. I don't care how authentic the cheesecake is, make it yourself!
“The food was excellent...” (Jun 27, 2008)
The food was excellent; the service was okay and atmosphere very nice.
“The food was sooo good...” (May 3, 2008) The food was sooo good! We had the Mezzet Sampler just to get a taste and it was great and done so beautifully! Great service, great decor and we were lucky and got in without a reservation :) We will be back.
“Tried it for the first...” (Feb 24, 2008)
Tried it for the first time and loved it. Excellent, lovingly made food. We stuck with the hot and cold mezz and found it was perfect. From the small to the big touches no detail is overlooked. A new fave! All the other so called Middle Eastern restaurant should watch their backs.
